The universe is not made of atoms; it’s made of tiny stories.
To create The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories: Volume 1, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, known within the hitRECord community as RegularJOE—directed thousands of collaborators to tell tiny stories through words and art. With the help of the entire creative collective, Gordon-Levitt culled, edited and curated over 8,500 contributions into this finely tuned collection of original art from 67 contributors. Reminiscent of the 6-Word Memoir series, The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories: Volume 1 brings together art and voices from around the world to unite and tell stories that defy size.
Amazon.com Review
Amazon Best Books of the Month, December 2011: The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories packs a lot of talent into one quirky little gem of a book. The result of a collaboration between artists and writers from around the globe and edited by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, these illustrated stories--each merely a few lines long--run the gamut of funny, clever, poignant, and delightfully odd. Reading The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories is like eating an unmapped box of chocolates--you don’t know what is going to come next, only that it’s bound to be good. --Seira Wilson

"The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories" is a collaborative work of (very) short stories by members of the website Hitrecord ([...]) which is directed by actor and artist Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, 50/50 etc). (pg 24) which accompanies a stunning illustration of a person in shadow surrounded by lines, the placement of which suggest the inside of an eye. Each story is left up to the interpretation of the reader which gives this collection a quasi-creative-writing-workshop feel to it, making the English major in me smile and cringe at times... The illustrations accompany the short stories quite well. Definitely worth the purchase, even for just a collector. I'm excited to get Volume 2 now! |
